Praise is much more than the 20 minute worship set in Sunday’s church service. Praise is a posture. It is the way we position ourselves humbly before God, in our everyday. It is the acknowledgement of His holiness and worthiness.

When we are praising God, we are lifting our eyes Heaven-ward rather than inward or downward. Think of your physical posture when you are looking up to Heaven. Your back straightens, no more slouching! We all know that a good posture is beneficial for a healthy back. In the same way, a Spiritual posture of praise is good for our souls.

In Philippians 4:8-9 AMP Paul says “if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. …practice these things [in daily life], and the God [who is the source] of peace and well-being will be with you.” Meanwhile, Psalm 73:28 AMP says that ‘it is GOOD for me to draw near to God.”
